In the 3rd minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hal Mackey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Hal Mackey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Western Springs FC's Hal Mackey proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Western Springs FC from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Hal Mackey in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Joel Gaona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hal Mackey having to interfere. Alberto Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Garrett Brock in the 22nd minute of play. In the 23rd minute, Colby Saucedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot 26 in the game by Lautaro Mancebo from a close distance when the talented Hal Mackey managed to make a qualified save. Western Springs FC's players were relieved. Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 26th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. In the 29th minute of the match, Joel Gaona tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Hal Mackey saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lionel Egan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lautaro Mancebo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 36th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hal Mackey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mexico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Gaona in the 39th minute. In the 40th match minute, Western Springs FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilbert Hatfield to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 41st minute of play forced Western Springs FC's goalkeeper Hal Mackey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hal Mackey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Facundo Cadaval in the 43rd minute of the match. In the 47th match minute, Western Springs FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Colby Saucedo to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Western Springs FC getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Colby Saucedo hit a great ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Gaona made a kick off. In the 53rd minute Kerry McDonald shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lautaro Mancebo in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hal Mackey prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hal Mackey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 60th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 62nd minute of play forced Western Springs FC's goalkeeper Hal Mackey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frankie Russell, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Emmanuel Corley during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Western Springs FC's Hal Mackey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 70th minute of play. If Frankie Russell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 72 played minutes Western Springs FC got a freekick which was hit by Monroe Munoz. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Joel Gaona managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Joel Gaona was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hal Mackey breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76th match minute, Western Springs FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Monroe Munoz to maneuver through the defense. Hal Mackey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 77th minute of play. Joel Gaona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alberto Tafalla took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hal Mackey. Hal Mackey dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luca Zorita kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. After 94 minutes of play Western Springs FC's Colby Saucedo was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Mexico walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
