Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Orvar Alegren got the match started through his kick off. Ej. Hermosillo B.C.'s Elano Donatello got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 10 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Tom Murillo came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 17 played minutes Ej. Hermosillo B.C. got a freekick which was hit by Efraim Bodenschmidt. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tom Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Ej. Hermosillo B.C.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tom Murillo in the 27th minute. 29 minutes into the game, Ej. Hermosillo B.C.'s Elano Donatello nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcos Cotilla made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Jose Laffitte made an important save on a dangerous shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 37th minute. Ej. Hermosillo B.C.'s Jose Laffitte proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Ej. Hermosillo B.C. from getting a goal against them. After taking down the ball on Panama's corner Abraham Alguacil fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jose Laffitte quite easily take care of the ball. After the first half Ej. Hermosillo B.C. were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 52nd minute of play forced Ej. Hermosillo B.C.'s goalkeeper Jose Laffitte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcos Cotilla didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tom Murillo went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Elano Donatello recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abraham Alguacil in the 67th minute of play forced Ej. Hermosillo B.C.'s goalkeeper Jose Laffitte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tom Murillo during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 68 played minutes Ej. Hermosillo B.C. got a freekick which was hit by Tom Murillo. Abraham Alguacil took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 69th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jose Laffitte. Ej. Hermosillo B.C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Orvar Alegren could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Marcos Cotilla made a huge save. Jose Laffitte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 76th minute of play. In the 92nd minute, Tomas Berganza made a precise shot to the right of Jose Laffitte. Ej. Hermosillo B.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2.
