The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcos da Fonseca in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ricardo Zorita saved El Salvador from getting behind. Ricardo Zorita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aílton Corrêa in the 16th minute of the match. The El Salvador fans' excitement grew in the 21st match minute when El Salvador's Moises Fernandino looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 33 minutes into the match, Aílton Corrêa notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita. Ricardo Zorita was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Ricart Futebol Clube's Osmar de Alcântara got a free kick in the 36th minute. Abram Luque hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Moises Fernandino struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Gilberto Godoi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for El Salvador. When Abram Luque fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Salvador's protests and gave Abram Luque a yellow card for diving instead. Abram Luque hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. In the 43rd match minute, Ricart Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agnaldo Paraíba to maneuver through the defense. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcos da Fonseca stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marcos da Fonseca's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricardo Zorita read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. In the 56th minute Moises Fernandino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Godoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. El Salvador's defense didn't have a chance, in the 58th minute, when Aílton Corrêa scored to the left of an out of position Ricardo Zorita, making the score, 1-2. Ricardo Zorita was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Agnaldo Paraíba was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 75th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The supporters of Ricart Futebol Clube booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marco Tamayo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gilberto Godoi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Moises Fernandino in the 86th minute of the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Ricart Futebol Clube eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
