Stone City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pavel Balc was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 6 minutes into the match, Stone City's Pavel Balc sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pedro Manzanares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 7 minutes had been played when some careless play by Colombia's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Fabio Vigil was slow to take the kick. During this time Stone City's players had a chance to rest. Stone City's Ulises Curcio managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Antonio Indiano in the 11 minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Colombia's zone, Pavel Balc stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Manzanares came out of the goal and Pavel Balc tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Pavel Balc scored 0-1 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedro Manzanares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Pavel Balc's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedro Manzanares was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. Pavel Balc might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pedro Manzanares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Colombia's attentive Antonio Indiano managed to snatch the ball when Laureano Herrera made a throw-in in the 33rd minute of the game. 37 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Pavel Balc came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Antonio Indiano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pavel Balc in the 44th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abram Sarmiento stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Stone City's Dragomir Marchovski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abram Sarmiento in the 58th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Abram Sarmiento's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dragomir Marchovski was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. Colombia made a substitution. Ignacio Mastache replaced Abram Sarmiento. 67 minutes into the game, Kevin Mastache threw the ball into play from the sideline. Stone City's Laureano Herrera quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pavel Balc got free with Pedro Manzanares in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dragomir Marchovski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abram Secada in the 87th minute of play. The Colombia supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Stone City's performance. The match ended with a win for Stone City.
