Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jeronimo Lizar in the 3rd minute. Alexander Carballo kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Jeronimo Lizar's late challenge caught a Costa Rica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jeronimo Lizar helped the player get up and apologised. Jeronimo Lizar hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. After 13 minutes, Hugo Ferrant mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the Correla q va en Chancleta players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Correla q va en Chancleta booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugo Ferrant didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 16 minutes, Lautaro Puig managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Costa Rica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lautaro Puig was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Matias Jon got free with Benito Sanz in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 25th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lautaro Puig to maneuver through the defense. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cleto Chinto hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Mateo Tartalo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Tasis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Eliseo Noboa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 41 minutes of play, Costa Rica's Axel Tasis made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mateo Tartalo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Axel Tasis to make the kick off. Mateo Tartalo was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Eliseo Noboa showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 54 minute of play. A collision led to Correla q va en Chancleta getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Santos Iratze hit a great ball. In the 60th minute Axel Tasis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mateo Tartalo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeronimo Lizar in the 81st minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 83rd minute of the match Matias Jon shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benito Sanz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Axel Tasis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Mateo Tartalo made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Axel Tasis got free with Mateo Tartalo in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 95 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Jeronimo Lizar came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Costa Rica left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Correla q va en Chancleta.
