With a little luck, GONDWONALAND's Grigoriy Avrutov got control of the ball when Lautaro Mancebo tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Mexico booed when GONDWONALAND was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fidencio Santander didn't get a good kick on the ball. 8 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Sosa came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. GONDWONALAND's Grigoriy Avrutov proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save GONDWONALAND from getting a goal against them. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valer Boteanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dante Lacasa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valer Boteanu's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. Mexico's Felix Luque got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. GONDWONALAND's Grigoriy Avrutov proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save GONDWONALAND from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Grigoriy Avrutov in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 26th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. Alberto Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Grigoriy Avrutov having to interfere. After having played for 37 minutes, Alberto Tafalla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alberto Tafalla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 42nd minute, Carlos Sosa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The GONDWONALAND fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valer Boteanu in the 44th minute of the match. In the 46th minute, Luca Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mexico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Valer Boteanu to make the kick off. Léo Pereira hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. A collision led to GONDWONALAND getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Léo Pereira hit a great ball. Joel Gaona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 68 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Tafalla. Grigoriy Avrutov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 70th minute of play. Grigoriy Avrutov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 72nd minute of the match. After 75 minutes of play, Mexico's Joel Gaona made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Grigoriy Avrutov was left in no man's land by his defense there! Joel Gaona's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Grigoriy Avrutov read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. GONDWONALAND's Grigoriy Avrutov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 89th minute of play. Alberto Tafalla struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Grigoriy Avrutov didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. Mexico's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
