Atlanta's Federico Gil shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in C. A. Atlanta reached it. Tony Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Seco in the 4th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Seco in the 7th minute of play forced C. A. Atlanta's goalkeeper Tony Guimarães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iker Dolfos's late challenge caught a Uruguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Iker Dolfos helped the player get up and apologised. Iker Dolfos kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. When C. A. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Teodoro Primo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 70th match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberto Gisbert to maneuver through the defense. After 76 minutes, Teodoro Primo made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, C. A. Atlanta's Tony Guimarães got control of the ball when Francisco Seco tried to sneak it across the goal line. Camilo Franco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tony Guimarães having to interfere. In the 96th minute Teodoro Primo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The C. A. Atlanta fans cheered their team off the field, for while Uruguay had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
