Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Uruguay's Francisco Seco started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tony Guimarães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match clock showed 19 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Teodoro Primo sped through Uruguay's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. After a rather tough play, C. A. Atlanta's Amadeo Amato got a free kick in the 22nd minute. The audience was convinced that Francisco Seco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tony Guimarães was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. If Teodoro Primo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tony Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Seco in the 29th minute of play. After 31 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Kevin Carballal. In the 32nd minute of the match C. A. Atlanta got a corner. Uruguay's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Teodoro Primo ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on C. A. Atlanta's corner Teodoro Primo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Joaquin Gayoso quite easily take care of the ball. Tony Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Seco in the 42nd minute of play. When Federico Gil fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C. A. Atlanta's protests and gave Federico Gil a yellow card for diving instead. In the 43rd minute, one of C. A. Atlanta:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for C. A. Atlanta. In the 45th minute there was a penalty for Uruguay. Jaime Cazalla stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Tony Guimarães. 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Teodoro Primo to strike the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, C. A. Atlanta's goalkeeper Tony Guimarães had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Francisco Seco. In the 56th minute, Jaime Cazalla sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and C. A. Atlanta's Tony Guimarães didn't even have to move. Francisco Seco struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Tony Guimarães didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uruguay. After 66 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Gisbert. Francisco Seco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 69th match minute, C. A. Atlanta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aquiles Manex to maneuver through the defense. Jaime Cazalla took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 70th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Tony Guimarães. C. A. Atlanta's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Tony Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 72nd minute of play. Romulo Hever charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Romulo Hever the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Romulo Hever hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Francisco Seco came free with the goalkeeper in the 86th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Tony Guimarães could save by the left post. Evaristo Rosio charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Evaristo Rosio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, C. A. Atlanta's Evaristo Rosio got a free kick in the 88th minute. In the 89th match minute, C. A. Atlanta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aquiles Manex to maneuver through the defense. Francisco Seco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Maximiliano Escribano's late challenge caught a C. A. Atlanta's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Maximiliano Escribano helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Uruguay getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Maximiliano Escribano hit a great ball. In the 96th minute, Teodoro Primo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Despite being the better team, Uruguay failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
