Daniel Marquez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Joaquin Gayoso made a huge save. In the 6th minute of the match Vila Nova GO got a corner. Uruguay's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cafu Branco ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Vila Nova GO's Cafu Branco to fire away a dangerous shot which Joaquin Gayoso despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. A collision led to Vila Nova GO getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Betinho Meireles hit a great ball. Maximiliano Escribano hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Alberto Gisbert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celsinho Capixaba having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, João Vítor Souto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vila Nova GO's supporters rose to their feet, but João Vítor Souto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joaquin Gayoso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Vítor Souto in the 17th minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso got control of the ball when João Vítor Souto tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 22nd minute, Daniel Marquez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Maximiliano Escribano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Betinho Meireles kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Francisco Seco struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Celsinho Capixaba didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uruguay. A collision led to Uruguay getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Camilo Franco hit a great ball. Cafu Branco took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 30th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Joaquin Gayoso. Uruguay's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 34 minutes, Daniel Marquez made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Maximiliano Escribano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Celsinho Capixaba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Marquez in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joaquin Gayoso saved Uruguay from getting behind. Joaquin Gayoso was a little too slow when Luís Guilherme Guedes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 44th minute. The score was now 2-0. A collision led to Vila Nova GO getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Cristian Favoretto hit a great ball. In the 48th minute, Francisco Seco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Marquez made a kick off. In the 59th minute, Dráusio Santos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 60th minute, Uruguay's Francisco Seco ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Celsinho Capixaba. Celsinho Capixaba yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-1. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Marquez in the 63rd minute of play. When the match clock showed 65 minutes, the score became 4-1 when Daniel Marquez sped through Uruguay's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. In the 68th minute Maximiliano Escribano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celsinho Capixaba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Uruguay's Jaime Cazalla was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Celsinho Capixaba in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 75 minutes into the match, Daniel Marquez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. Uruguay's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Marquez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. A collision led to Vila Nova GO getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Horácio Corrêa hit a great ball. In the 79th minute, Uruguay's Francisco Seco dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 5-2. Luís Guilherme Guedes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Marquez scored 6-2 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joaquin Gayoso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Uruguay getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Francisco Seco hit a great ball. João Vítor Souto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Marquez in the 94th minute of the match. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Vítor Souto, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Vila Nova GO were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Uruguay for a fine match.
