El Salvador's Moises Fernandino quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Robustiano Lanis, made in the 6th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moises Fernandino in the 6th minute of play forced Atlético San Antonio's goalkeeper Vasco Gorvea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 11 minutes into the game, Galtero Barrosa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Atlético San Antonio's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave El Salvador the free kick. In the 12th minute, Galtero Barrosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcos Pestaña recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 33 minutes of play, El Salvador's Moises Fernandino made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vasco Gorvea was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 47th minute, Ramond Chandeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

52 minutes into the match, Marcos Pestaña notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita. Ricardo Zorita was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Marco Tamayo's late challenge caught a Atlético San Antonio's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marco Tamayo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 62nd minute, Marco Tamayo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 67 played minutes Atlético San Antonio got a freekick which was hit by Galtero Barrosa. Abram Luque sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When El Salvador's Moises Fernandino in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Atlético San Antonio's goalie prevented a goal. Vasco Gorvea was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ramond Chandeiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ricardo Zorita. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ramond Chandeiro ran back to his position shaking his head. Moises Fernandino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vasco Gorvea having to interfere. The throw-in from Mercurio Rocafort in the 90th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by El Salvador's Jesus Carvallo. Marcos Pestaña who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 94thth minute tested the skills of Ricardo Zorita when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. El Salvador had won after a very even match.
