An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 9th minute of play forced Águilas Poblanas's goalkeeper Alexandros Ismael to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 9 minutes into the match, Lautaro Mancebo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alexandros Ismael. Águilas Poblanas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lautaro Mancebo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 20 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eusebio Beltran. Dante Lacasa was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Jacinto Galeno showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 21 minute of play. Eusebio Beltran scored 2-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dante Lacasa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jacinto Galeno in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dante Lacasa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 35th minute, Águilas Poblanas's Jacinto Galeno dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-1. 37 minutes into the match, Águilas Poblanas's goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Mancebo came free, but Alexandros Ismael reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alexandros Ismael showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. In the 44th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexandros Ismael saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Águilas Poblanas's zone, Lautaro Mancebo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alexandros Ismael came out of the goal and Lautaro Mancebo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Águilas Poblanas's Carlo Ciolli was substituted for Tao Cheng Han. The wind increased when Jacinto Galeno made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Jacinto Galeno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jacinto Galeno during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When Jacinto Galeno came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Águilas Poblanas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jacinto Galeno couldn't finish the play. 61 minutes into the match, Águilas Poblanas's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Alexandros Ismael reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacinto Galeno in the 69th minute of play. With a little luck, Águilas Poblanas's Alexandros Ismael got control of the ball when Lautaro Mancebo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cengiz Canalp hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. After 74 played minutes Águilas Poblanas got a freekick which was hit by Anıl Cenk Yılğıralp. Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 78 minutes, Jacinto Galeno managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Águilas Poblanas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jacinto Galeno was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alberto Tafalla in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alexandros Ismael prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alberto Tafalla struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Alexandros Ismael didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacinto Galeno in the 86th minute of play. Joel Gaona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Alexandros Ismael tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Águilas Poblanas booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Macos Graciani didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Águilas Poblanas support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
