After 40 played minutes Paraguay got a freekick which was hit by Hector Covarrubias. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramond Chandeiro in the 42nd minute of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcos Pestaña stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 60 played minutes Atlético San Antonio got a freekick which was hit by Gartzea Ungia. 65 minutes into the match, Ramond Chandeiro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jacobo Nores. Paraguay's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ramond Chandeiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Paraguay's Hector Covarrubias quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Ramond Chandeiro, made in the 75th minute of the game. Galtero Barrosa kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Jaime Pardo struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Vasco Gorvea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paraguay. A collision led to Atlético San Antonio getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Gartzea Ungia hit a great ball. Vasco Gorvea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hector Covarrubias in the 94th minute of the match. When Hector Covarrubias came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Paraguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hector Covarrubias couldn't finish the play. Chants of Atlético San Antonio echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Paraguay had held the ball for most of the match.
