The audience was convinced that Luis Andino's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nestor Arenaza was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Joaquin Socorro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Joaquin Socorro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Nestor Arenaza in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luis Andino's late challenge caught a CIRUGIA CARDIOVASCULAR LP's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luis Andino helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Luis Andino hit a great ball. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Ecuador players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented CIRUGIA CARDIOVASCULAR LP from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
