In the 15th minute of the game Mercurio Rocafort made a throw-in which Marcos Pestaña played forward. If Gartzea Ungia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcos Pestaña took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lautaro Navarro. Lautaro Navarro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramond Chandeiro in the 37th minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 40th minute, Sebastian Villa reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Vasco Gorvea. The goal made the score 2-2. After having played for 44 minutes, Edmundo Espiga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmundo Espiga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edmundo Espiga to make the kick off. If Sebastian Villa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Honduras's Sebastian Villa got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Atlético San Antonio defense, Edmundo Espiga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vasco Gorvea. The Atlético San Antonio fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vasco Gorvea should have stopped the shot. Sebastian Villa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vasco Gorvea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 69th minute of play. Lorencio Gobantes charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lorencio Gobantes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 72 played minutes Atlético San Antonio got a freekick which was hit by Lorencio Gobantes. Edmundo Espiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vasco Gorvea having to interfere. Sebastian Villa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 79 minutes into the game, Honduras's Edmundo Espiga nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vasco Gorvea made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-2. A collision led to Atlético San Antonio getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Gartzea Ungia hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Sebastian Villa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Honduras's supporters rose to their feet, but Sebastian Villa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vasco Gorvea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The throw-in from Mercurio Rocafort in the 87th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Honduras's Luca Espinar. After having played for 88 minutes, Sebastian Villa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sebastian Villa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Atlético San Antonio getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Lorencio Gobantes hit a great ball. Honduras's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
