The audience was convinced that Zhuo Chao Chuan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ricardo Zorita was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. If Moises Fernandino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 18 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Lorenzo Yepes. Ricardo Zorita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leo Iigo in the 18th minute of the match. After some careless play in the El Salvador defense, Leo Iigo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricardo Zorita. The El Salvador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricardo Zorita should have stopped the shot. 22 minutes into the match, Leo Iigo notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita. Ricardo Zorita was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ricardo Zorita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zhuo Chao Chuan in the 25th minute of play. In the 28th minute Zhuo Chao Chuan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Zorita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zhuo Chao Chuan in the 37th minute of play forced El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 38 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goal looked a bit too open when Emil Fărcășan came free, but Ricardo Zorita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Udo Nigula blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ricardo Zorita having to make a save. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Moises Fernandino to make the kick off. Abram Luque sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ricardo Zorita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Udo Nigula, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Udo Nigulas short, quick shot in the 67thth minute got Ricardo Zorita to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. CE LAJEADENSE RS's Christian Orlan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moises Fernandino in the 77th minute of play. Ricardo Zorita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Udo Nigula, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. When the match clock showed 82 minutes, the score became 0-5 when Zhuo Chao Chuan sped through El Salvador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ricardo Zorita. CE LAJEADENSE RS made a substitution. Bater Palma replaced Udo Nigula. In the 93rd minute, Leo Iigo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ricardo Zorita was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-7. Ricardo Zorita didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anísio Koehler went, in the 97th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-8 was the resulting score. When the final whistle sounded CE LAJEADENSE RS left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than El Salvador.
