Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Evelio Jerold kicked off to start the match. After some careless play in the Newton FC defense, Patricio Costa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lorenzo Santikurtz. The Newton FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lorenzo Santikurtz should have stopped the shot. Jose Correa's late challenge caught a Newton FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jose Correa helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 6th minute. When Tomas Illescas, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 9 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Lorenzo Santikurtz was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 12th minute Evelio Jerold shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 13th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomas Illescas to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Newton FC booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 18th minute, Tomas Illescas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lorenzo Santikurtz having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evelio Jerold in the 30th minute of play. Paulo Gener recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Lorenzo Santikurtz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 43 played minutes Feliciano Errapel could catch the ball where he stood relatively free a bit outside the goal and without hesitation he completed 1-1 into the left cross. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Feliciano Errapel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Feliciano Errapel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a free kick in the 52nd minute. 54 minutes into the match, Evelio Jerold notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 57 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. In the 59th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Correa to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Gener, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. In the 61st minute, Evelio Jerold hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The throw-in from Pablo Gomes in the 62nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Venezuela's Patricio Costa. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evelio Jerold in the 64th minute of play. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evelio Jerold in the 68th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pablo Gomes made in the 72nd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Evelio Jerold. After 76 minutes of play, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lorenzo Santikurtz was left in no man's land by his defense there! 80 minutes into the match, Newton FC's goalkeeper Lorenzo Santikurtz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. With his leg Lorenzo Santikurtz managed to avoid a goal in the 85thth minute, when Venezuela's Tomas Illescas fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Evelio Jerold took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. Newton FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
