Paraguay's Jacobo Nores played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André Guimarães in the 43rd minute of play. The Paraguay fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After the first half Paraguay were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. André Guimarães was the one to do the kick off. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Augusto Veloso in the 52nd minute of play. Jacobo Nores took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from André Guimarães, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pedro Luiz Paranaense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaime Pardo in the 65th minute of the match. Alfredo Ceresso kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Paraguay's zone, José Augusto Veloso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacobo Nores came out of the goal and José Augusto Veloso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 71st minute, Ivan Prats hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jacobo Nores took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from André Guimarães, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jacobo Nores came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by Paris San Duíche's André Guimarães. But to his dismay, André Guimarães quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Ismael Couto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Jacobo Nores tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Paraguay's Raul Venegas got a free kick in the 85th minute. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Augusto Veloso in the 86th minute of play. The audience was convinced that André Guimarães's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jacobo Nores was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. Ismael Couto kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. A collision led to Paris San Duíche getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Gustavo Brasil hit a great ball. Jaime Pardo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Pedro Luiz Paranaense made a huge save.
