The corner ended in Reces Cabanillas almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. VILLANUEVA FC's Nicodemo Recalde proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save VILLANUEVA FC from getting a goal against them. In the 23rd minute, Gerardo Gazitúa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in VILLANUEVA FC's zone, Felix Montenegro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicodemo Recalde came out of the goal and Felix Montenegro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Xalvador Mac Kenney hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Nicodemo Recalde came out and tried to block the shot, but Daniel Zorita slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 33rd minute. Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nicodemo Recalde. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. Daniel Zorita scored 6-0 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nicodemo Recalde, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, VILLANUEVA FC's Nicodemo Recalde got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nicodemo Recalde showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marcel Blanco made a kick off. Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 51 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nicodemo Recalde. Nicodemo Recalde dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. After 66 played minutes VILLANUEVA FC got a freekick which was hit by Gerardo Gazitúa. 73 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 10-0. Nicodemo Recalde was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xacobo Barroso, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. The supporters of VILLANUEVA FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agustín Saelices didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 77th minute, Marcel Blanco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 79 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 11-0. VILLANUEVA FC's Marcel Blanco came free and shot a quick shot against goal 84 minutes in the game, fortunately Julio Vera had problems saving as it came toward the left post. Agustín Saelices recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Esteban José Norambuena charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Esteban José Norambuena the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when VILLANUEVA FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Esteban José Norambuena didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nicodemo Recalde made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustín Saelices in the 90th minute of play. Atahan Hatemoğlu hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Ecuador walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
