Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The supporters of Peru booed when Club Deportes Santa Cruz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eduardo Elia didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Club Deportes Santa Cruz getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Eduardo Elia hit a great ball. Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Ilkka Markkula played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 15th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 16th minute of play forced Club Deportes Santa Cruz's goalkeeper Ilkka Markkula to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ilkka Markkula came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Peru's Julian Murillo. But to his dismay, Julian Murillo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Eduardo Elia made in the 22nd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Zhou Yao Si however managed to control. The corner ended in Luz Tejedor almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Ilkka Markkula did a great save. Ilkka Markkula showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luz Tejedor, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Podador Raheiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 31st minute of play forced Club Deportes Santa Cruz's goalkeeper Ilkka Markkula to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ilkka Markkula stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julian Murillo's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. Eduardo Elia got a throw-in 33 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Vágner Linares. If Podador Raheiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 35th minute, Eduardo Elia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ilkka Markkula took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ilkka Markkula showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luz Tejedor in the 40th minute of the match. 41 minutes into the match, Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jacinto Gebhard. Ilkka Markkula showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Julian Murillo took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ilkka Markkula. Ilkka Markkula dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After the first half Peru were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Trayko Gradinarski was substituted for Zhou Yao Si. The wind increased when Julian Murillo made the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute Yan Zhi Chuan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yan Zhi Chuan in the 60th minute of the match. Ilkka Markkula showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 62nd minute of the match. Yan Zhi Chuan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Emmanuel Reyes fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Peru's protests and gave Emmanuel Reyes a yellow card for diving instead. In the 78th minute, Emmanuel Reyes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rolando Noboa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Yan Zhi Chuan went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Shi Yuan kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. After 85 played minutes Club Deportes Santa Cruz got a freekick which was hit by Shi Yuan. Rafael Gallo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Ilkka Markkula made a huge save. 88 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Yan Zhi Chuan came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Deportes Santa Cruz's goalkeeper Ilkka Markkula, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 94th minute of the match Peru got a corner. Club Deportes Santa Cruz's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Eliseo Mina ran over to the corner to take the kick. Ilkka Markkula came out of the goal in the 97th minute to try and stop a shot by Peru's Rafael Gallo. But to his dismay, Rafael Gallo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3.
