Şemsettin Tuyuğ made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cassius Byrne in the 33rd minute of play. 34 minutes into the match, USA's goal looked a bit too open when Robert Percha came free, but Marco Day reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The USA fans' excitement grew in the 70th match minute when USA's Cassius Byrne looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Şemsettin Tuyuğ made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 79th minute of play. In the 87th minute, Aşır Zabit ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marco Day was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. USA's Khalid Parry was substituted for Monty Rogers. With a little luck, KOCAELİSPOR's Şemsettin Tuyuğ got control of the ball when Sam Campbell tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match was over USA could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than KOCAELİSPOR throughout the match.
