Colombia's Pedro Manzanares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Colombia from getting a goal against them. If Albert Gaardahl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carmelo Vachon took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pedro Manzanares. Pedro Manzanares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Albert Gaardahls short, quick shot in the 33rdth minute got Pedro Manzanares to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Jose Vimaro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Montenegro in the 39th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albert Gaardahl in the 43rd minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Colombia's Abram Sarmiento in the 44th minute got a chance for a shot 44th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
