Bjarte Walle kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 19th minute after Arrebimba o Malho SLB's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. In the 56th minute Angelo Quintela shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maxim Tilea, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Man Fish showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 67th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Man Fish in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luis Andino was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 73rd minute. Ecuador's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 74th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
