When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. Fridun Schwemer hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Cristian Sancho slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Silvano Fragoso. That made the score 1-3 after 82 minutes of play. With his leg Silvano Fragoso managed to avoid a goal in the 85thth minute, when Ecuador's Felix Montenegro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 87th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Benfica de Penafirme defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Silvano Fragoso. The Benfica de Penafirme fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Silvano Fragoso should have stopped the shot. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raúl Cruz, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. The Benfica de Penafirme fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
