Luz Tejedor's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cassiano Mendonça read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. 13 minutes into the match, GD Fiães's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Cassiano Mendonça reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tobias Brites in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rolando Noboa saved Peru from getting behind. In the 20th minute of the game Mateus Valadares made a throw-in which Amável Quental played forward. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 22nd minute of play forced GD Fiães's goalkeeper Cassiano Mendonça to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cassiano Mendonça narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Telmo Teves, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. GD Fiães's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Peru the free kick. After 51 played minutes GD Fiães got a freekick which was hit by Bernardo Reis. After having played for 52 minutes, Luz Tejedor managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Peru's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luz Tejedor was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julian Murillo got free with Cassiano Mendonça in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 56 minutes, Claudemiro Baptista mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the GD Fiães and the Peru players grew even worse after the yellow card. Claudemiro Baptista kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. GD Fiães's Alex Ibáñez was substituted for Telmo Teves. The supporters of Peru booed when GD Fiães was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudemiro Baptista didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cassiano Mendonça didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peru. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tobias Brites, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Peru's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luz Tejedor in the 75th minute. Peru's Luz Tejedor was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Cassiano Mendonça in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Emmanuel Reyes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 76th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Cassiano Mendonça. GD Fiães's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. Peru made a substitution.
