A sloppy throw-in by Gernando Rocha in the 2nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Eliseo Mina. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gernando Rocha during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 5th minute, Gernando Rocha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Luz Tejedor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 11th match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Efraim Gilabert to maneuver through the defense. Rolando Noboa made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Lokon Pøhl sent off a good shot on target. 18 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Lokon Pøhl came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Egun Pais made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luz Tejedor in the 21st minute of play. Julian Murillo took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Egun Pais. Egun Pais dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Rolando Noboa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lokon Pøhl in the 31st minute. Andy Cole's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 31stth minute, Rolando Noboa skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Egun Pais read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. Egun Pais took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luz Tejedor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luz Tejedor in the 38th minute of play forced Floresta Negra FC's goalkeeper Egun Pais to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41st minute, Julian Murillo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Egun Pais was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Egun Pais showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 48th minute of the match. After the first half Peru were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Andy Cole to strike the kick off in the second half. Carlos Fernando Azevedo hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Floresta Negra FC's Egun Pais played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luz Tejedor in the 53rd minute of play. If Julian Murillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Floresta Negra FC's Alexsandro Mandrak was substituted for Hector Bazkoare. Egun Pais was a little too slow when Julian Murillo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 61st minute. The score was now 0-3. When Eliseo Mina came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Peru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eliseo Mina couldn't finish the play. With an all-out effort, Peru's Egun Pais threw himself towards the right post 77 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luz Tejedor, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Eliseo Mina kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Eliseo Mina hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jardel Lewandowski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Egun Pais made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rafael Gallo in the 91st minute. Rafael Gallo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Egun Pais made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rafael Gallo got free with Egun Pais in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Peru's Rafael Gallo in the 97th minute got a chance for a shot 97th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Floresta Negra FC's goalie prevented a goal. Peru's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
