After 4 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Luis Andino. Magnus Gallin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 10th minute of play forced Knipan IF's goalkeeper Amadeu Pombal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 12 minutes into the game, Olle Bröms was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Knipan IF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. In the 18th minute, Edmund Söderquist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 21 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Sancho. Knipan IF's Amadeu Pombal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 24th minute of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Knipan IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Magnus Gallin didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th match minute, Knipan IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aaron Harman to maneuver through the defense. Amadeu Pombal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Amadeu Pombal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Amadeu Pombal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustín Saelices in the 47th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Amadeu Pombal in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Knipan IF booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Primitivo Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 59th minute of the match Dick Näfver shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a little luck, Knipan IF's Amadeu Pombal got control of the ball when Agustín Saelices tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Agustín Saelices in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amadeu Pombal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 67th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeu Pombal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 68th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeu Pombal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 70 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 72 minutes into the match, Knipan IF's goalkeeper Amadeu Pombal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. A collision led to Knipan IF getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Magnus Gallin hit a great ball. Agustín Saelices sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amadeu Pombal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Amadeu Pombal came out and tried to block the shot, but Felix Montenegro slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 91st minute. 94 minutes into the game, Luis Andino cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Amadeu Pombal was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Knipan IF throughout the match.
