With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Romulo Juvenal tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Israel Bertol fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored BORBOTONES FUTBOL CLUB's protests and gave Israel Bertol a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, BORBOTONES FUTBOL CLUB's Israel Bertol got a free kick in the 9th minute. BORBOTONES FUTBOL CLUB's Lisandro Aresti quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Guillermo Mariano, made in the 13th minute of the game. Guillermo Mariano made in the 16th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by BORBOTONES FUTBOL CLUB's Faustino Eneas. Romulo Juvenal who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 17thth minute tested the skills of Jonathan Ferrant when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Faustino Eneas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Faustino Eneas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Camilo Gaos hit a great ball. If Jose Correa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 30 minutes into the game, Guillermo Mariano threw the ball into play from the sideline. BORBOTONES FUTBOL CLUB's Faustino Eneas quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 35th match minute, BORBOTONES FUTBOL CLUB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vicente Lizardi to maneuver through the defense. Tomas Illescas shot a long shot in the 36th minute and a light blocked Higinio Gonzales hadn't a chance when the ball went into goal on his right side. It was 0-1. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Venezuela booed when BORBOTONES FUTBOL CLUB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silvestre Niguel didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th minute of the match Tomas Illescas shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Higinio Gonzales showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After the first half Venezuela were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Higinio Gonzales saved BORBOTONES FUTBOL CLUB from getting behind. BORBOTONES FUTBOL CLUB's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Patricio Costa 58 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-2. Higinio Gonzales came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Venezuela's Tomas Illescas. But to his dismay, Tomas Illescas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Camilo Gaos hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. A throw-in in the 69th minute of the game was made by Baldomiro Gerazan with Romulo Juvenal as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. After 73 minutes of play, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Higinio Gonzales was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 75 played minutes BORBOTONES FUTBOL CLUB got a freekick which was hit by Baldomiro Gerazan. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Romulo Juvenal in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. In the 86th minute, Patricio Costa fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Camilo Gaos made in the 93rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by BORBOTONES FUTBOL CLUB's Lisandro Aresti. When the match was over Venezuela could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than BORBOTONES FUTBOL CLUB throughout the match.
