Domínguez AFC's Artemio Cidro was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jonathan Ferrant in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 15 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Domínguez AFC's Omar Conrao. Omar Conrao was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Humberto Hermon in the 56th minute of play. After having played for 61 minutes, Atilano Silbestre managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Domínguez AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Atilano Silbestre was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 63 played minutes Domínguez AFC got a freekick which was hit by Galsino Camino. In the 66th minute, Sven-Ove Colin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sven-Ove Colin, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Humberto Hermon in the 71st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fidel Gaitano in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Omar Conrao tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
