The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 18th minute, Reynaldo Lizer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Teodor Caldueño could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. In the 41st minute, Reynaldo Lizer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Teo Tohias to strike the kick off in the second half. Teo Tohias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jairo Abarca read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Jairo Abarca made a huge save. Zornin Nava kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Dinamo Tirana's Zornin Nava got a free kick in the 82nd minute. After 84 minutes, Camilo Gaos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the Dinamo Tirana players grew even worse after the yellow card.
