Luis Andino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but 卓杰卫 read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. A hard shot 18 in the game by 张辰海 from a close distance when the talented Julio Vera managed to make a qualified save. Ecuador's players were relieved. 肖广远 did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Julio Vera 18 minutes into the match. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Ecuador players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
