Berenjenas de Punto Fijo's Ixidor Herquinigo got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Ixidor Herquinigo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oro Villalon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alan Moruga got a free kick in the 25th minute. Ramond Mascareñas struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Berenjenas de Punto Fijo. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Oro Villalon made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Berenjenas de Punto Fijo's zone, Eliseo Noboa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guillen Piñera came out of the goal and Eliseo Noboa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Axel Tasis who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 68thth minute tested the skills of Guillen Piñera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Oro Villalon's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kaiet Ambrosio in the 75th minute of the match. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. Berenjenas de Punto Fijo were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
