It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. The corner led to Ecuador's Felix Montes getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Paulo José Rodrigues read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Queluzito's Felippe Fonseca got a free kick in the 13th minute. 13 minutes into the game, Nando Lima was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Queluzito's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. In the 14th minute, Nando Lima hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 18th minute of play forced Queluzito's goalkeeper Paulo José Rodrigues to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paulo José Rodrigues saved Queluzito from getting behind. Paulo José Rodrigues showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 26th minute of the match. In the 30th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Roger Vargas hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. After 34 played minutes Queluzito got a freekick which was hit by Roger Vargas. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 35th minute of play forced Queluzito's goalkeeper Paulo José Rodrigues to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo José Rodrigues having to interfere. After some careless play in the Queluzito defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paulo José Rodrigues. The Queluzito fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paulo José Rodrigues should have stopped the shot.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nando Lima in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Daniel Zorita who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 61stth minute tested the skills of Paulo José Rodrigues when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Paulo José Rodrigues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Paulo José Rodrigues made a huge save. Daniel Zorita's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 75thth minute, Paulo José Rodrigues skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Queluzito's Paulo José Rodrigues played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 82nd minute of play. Mazinho Lara kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Ecuador played a much better game than Queluzito and deserved their victory. The Queluzito players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
