Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Dario Alegría made the kick off which started today's match. Mariano Lacasa might have been able to make a better finish in the 5th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jailson Teles. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mariano Lacasa ran back to his position shaking his head. 7 minutes into the game, Doriva Leão threw the ball into play from the sideline. Chile's Pedro Indiano quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 9 minutes into the match, Mariano Lacasa notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of AVAÍ F.C.'s Jailson Teles. Jailson Teles was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Guillermo Fontirroig took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 18th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jailson Teles. AVAÍ F.C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, AVAÍ F.C.'s Tarcisio Chaves got a free kick in the 18th minute. In the 19th minute, Mariano Lacasa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Chile fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. The audience was convinced that Mariano Lacasa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jailson Teles was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. After 25 minutes, Tarcisio Chaves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AVAÍ F.C. and the Chile players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Chile booed when AVAÍ F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tarcisio Chaves didn't get a good kick on the ball. AVAÍ F.C.'s Jailson Teles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 28th minute of play. Chile's Orlando Casaus got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 38 minutes into the match, Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alex Sági. A hard shot 40 in the game by Walmyr Salles from a close distance when the talented Thiago Pliego managed to make a qualified save. Chile's players were relieved. In the 42nd minute of the match Chile got a corner. AVAÍ F.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mariano Lacasa ran over to the corner to take the kick. Alan Tamayo made a great header on Chile's corner, it was just that AVAÍ F.C.'s Jailson Teles managed to reach the ball for a save. Mariano Lacasa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jailson Teles having to make a save. After the first half Chile were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mariano Lacasa to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute of the match, Guillermo Fontirroig got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jailson Teles was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. If Dario Alegría had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chile's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Mariano Lacasa in the 60th minute. After taking down the ball on Chile's corner Mariano Lacasa fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jailson Teles quite easily take care of the ball. Jailson Teles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Walmyr Salles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. AVAÍ F.C. made a substitution. Claus Van De Wiele replaced Dario Alegría. AVAÍ F.C.'s Luiz Pombal was substituted for Teodoro Magalhães. Ivory Gunn made in the 77th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Rubens Cabral. Walmyr Salles's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Thiago Pliego read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. Thiago Pliego didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Walmyr Salles went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. In the 82nd match minute, AVAÍ F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rubens Cabral to maneuver through the defense. Guillermo Fontirroig could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Jailson Teles made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Claus Van De Wiele managed to get in a good position for a shot. AVAÍ F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Claus Van De Wiele was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thiago Pliego breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Orlando Casaus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jailson Teles having to interfere. Mariano Lacasa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mariano Lacasa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Jailson Teles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95th minute, Mariano Lacasa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jailson Teles was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. Chile's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
