Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Walmyr Salles took the kick off in the first half of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Sági in the 4th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manfredo Gerber charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Manfredo Gerber the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 6th minute, Manfredo Gerber hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 7 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for AVAÍ F.C.! After 10 played minutes AVAÍ F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Innocenzio Corales. Jailson Teles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 12th minute of play. Joel Gaona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jailson Teles having to interfere. With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when Alex Sági tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 21st minute, AVAÍ F.C.'s Walmyr Salles ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Sági in the 23rd minute of play. Jailson Teles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of AVAÍ F.C. booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Facundo Cadaval didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, AVAÍ F.C.'s Manfredo Gerber got a free kick in the 30th minute. After 34 minutes AVAÍ F.C.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. Mexico's Joel Gaona was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jailson Teles in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Jailson Teles stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joel Gaona's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. AVAÍ F.C.'s Jailson Teles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 36th minute of play. Jailson Teles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Facundo Cadaval, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rubens Cabral in the 40th minute of play. Luca Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lautaro Mancebo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Jailson Teles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dario Alegría in the 45th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Joel Gaona made the kick off in the second half. AVAÍ F.C.'s Jailson Teles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 52nd minute of play. Joel Gaona took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jailson Teles. Jailson Teles dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. AVAÍ F.C.'s Jailson Teles proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save AVAÍ F.C. from getting a goal against them. Luiz Pombal kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. AVAÍ F.C. made a substitution. Tarcisio Chaves replaced Luiz Pombal. A collision led to AVAÍ F.C. getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Luiz Pombal hit a great ball. 72 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Walmyr Salles came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 75th match minute, AVAÍ F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Innocenzio Corales to maneuver through the defense. AVAÍ F.C.'s Teodoro Magalhães was substituted for Rubens Cabral. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Jailson Teles made a huge save. In the 84th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which Alberto Tafalla managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Walmyr Salles, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Dante Lacasa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Walmyr Salles went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, AVAÍ F.C.'s Tarcisio Chaves got a free kick in the 91st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joel Gaona got free with Jailson Teles in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
