Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. 39 minutes into the match, Espirillo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Jorge Iztal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Arnoldo Arotza came up free with the goalie in the 49th minute, the Espirillo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arnoldo Arotza couldn't finish the play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gregorio Hotz was the one to do the kick off. Aaron Cutberto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. Gregorio Hotz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristo Elia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 92nd match minute, Espirillo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saverio Cristos to maneuver through the defense. When Espirillo FC's Gregorio Hotz in the 94th minute got a chance for a shot 94th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Espirillo FC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
