Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Tord Gustafsson started the match with the kick off. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jens Björling's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. 8 minutes into the match, Tord Gustafsson notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arne Askstedt in the 11th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Ecuador's Tord Fors threw himself towards the right post 13 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luis Andino, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 15 minutes had been played when some careless play by Smurfarna's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Smurfarna's Tord Fors did a great save. Tord Fors made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Smurfarna's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Bekir Vural in the 21st minute. Tord Fors made an important save on a dangerous shot by Agustín Saelices in the 22nd minute. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Tord Fors tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tord Gustafsson's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jens Björling in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 36 minutes into the game, Smurfarna's Arne Askstedt nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. When Bekir Vural came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Smurfarna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bekir Vural couldn't finish the play. Tord Gustafsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. The Ecuador players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Smurfarna were winning 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Bekir Vural kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Tord Fors showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 55th minute of the match. Arne Askstedt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Robin Eliasson charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Robin Eliasson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Smurfarna's Robin Eliasson got a free kick in the 66th minute. In the 71st minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Tord Fors. Smurfarna's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. An unexpected shot in the 74th minute by Tord Gustafsson got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 76thth minute, when Smurfarna's Jens Björling fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Smurfarna's Arne Askstedt slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Julio Vera. That made the score 1-3 after 81 minutes of play. In the 83rd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Andino to maneuver through the defense. 84 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jens Björling. In the 87th minute, Cristian Sancho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 93rd minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tord Fors saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tord Gustafsson in the 95th minute of play. The Ecuador manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Smurfarna to win.
