Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Moises Fernandino started the match with the kick off. If Moises Fernandino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Mercedario AFC booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moises Fernandino didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 9 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Moises Fernandino. After a rather tough play, El Salvador's Luis Rubio got a free kick in the 17th minute. In the 19th minute, Mercedario AFC's Desiderio Enmanuel ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ricardo Zorita. Ricardo Zorita yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. The supporters of El Salvador booed when Mercedario AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Justo Tonio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Moises Fernandino blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fernando Cresenciano having to make a save. Mercedario AFC's Fernando Cresenciano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moises Fernandino in the 30th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Desiderio Enmanuel in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ricardo Zorita prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 33rd minute, Abram Luque got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Moises Fernandino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save El Salvador from getting a goal against them. Moises Fernandino struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Fernando Cresenciano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for El Salvador. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Mercedario AFC made a substitution. Mauricio Cordairo replaced Miguel Obano. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Desiderio Enmanuel made a kick off. Ricardo Zorita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adolfo Ovando in the 56th minute of the match. Moises Fernandino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Cresenciano having to interfere. In the 67th minute, Marco Tamayo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard and well directed shot from Salvador Berriotxoa led 67 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Moises Fernandino got free with Fernando Cresenciano in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adolfo Ovando in the 79th minute of play. Desiderio Enmanuel took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ricardo Zorita. Ricardo Zorita dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. In the 86th minute Desiderio Enmanuel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Zorita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Mercedario AFC getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Federico Gentza hit a great ball. When Moises Fernandino came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the El Salvador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Moises Fernandino couldn't finish the play. Anier Kinsen hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. Fernando Cresenciano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mateo Leguizamo went, in the 98th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Mercedario AFC fans cheered their team off the field, for while El Salvador had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
