The corner led to AE Uruguaianense's Antônio Carlos Arantes getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 21st match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montes to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Toro Junior in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. In the 26th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. AE Uruguaianense's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ubelteso Amandi kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Jardel Queiroz made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Felix Montenegro sent off a good shot on target. A hard shot 65 in the game by Agustín Saelices from a close distance when the talented Jardel Queiroz managed to make a qualified save. AE Uruguaianense's players were relieved. Jardel Queiroz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Jardel Queiroz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 82nd minute of the match. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antônio Carlos Arantes in the 87th minute of play. The corner led AE Uruguaianense's Ramiro Teles to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. AE Uruguaianense succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Ecuador had controlled the match.
