Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Deilmison van Basten took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 4th minute, Emmanuel Reyes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Deilmison van Basten got free with Rolando Noboa in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Peru booed when ATHLETICO PRaiano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vitor Beckenbauer didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 15 played minutes Deilmison van Basten rounded Peru's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. Rodriguinho Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 18th minute of play. Luz Tejedor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, Peru's Rolando Noboa got control of the ball when Deilmison van Basten tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience was convinced that Julian Murillo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rodriguinho Sousa was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. After having played for 31 minutes, Denílson Magalhães managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ATHLETICO PRaiano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Denílson Magalhães was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Deilmison van Basten came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the ATHLETICO PRaiano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Deilmison van Basten couldn't finish the play. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Deilmison van Basten in the 44th minute of play. Milagros Fraga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

In the 55th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodriguinho Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. ATHLETICO PRaiano's Heitor Maldini was substituted for Betão Marquez. Rolando Noboa came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by ATHLETICO PRaiano's Deilmison van Basten. But to his dismay, Deilmison van Basten quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. After some careless play in the Peru defense, Deilmison van Basten kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rolando Noboa. The Peru fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolando Noboa should have stopped the shot. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Deilmison van Basten in the 86th minute of the match. In the 88th minute Deilmison van Basten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 96th minute Peru were awarded a corner. Eliseo Mina went to the cornerflag to take it. Many of Peru's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Peru may have spent more time on the ball, but ATHLETICO PRaiano were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
