Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Clayton Sergi came free with the goalkeeper in the 23rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Julio Vera could save by the left post. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Clayton Sergi in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Ecuador players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
