Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adriano Rodrigues in the 75th minute of play. In the 76th minute of the match Xapetuba Futebol Clube got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Flávio Matos ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Xapetuba Futebol Clube's Flávio Matos to fire away a dangerous shot which Jonathan Ferrant despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 78 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. Xapetuba Futebol Clube made a substitution. Patrick Neiva replaced Jacinto Paraíba. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Jose Correa hit a great ball. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriano Rodrigues, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. In the 85th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Correa to maneuver through the defense. Rigoberto Mina's late challenge caught a Xapetuba Futebol Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rigoberto Mina helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Rigoberto Mina got a free kick in the 86th minute. In the 89thth minute of the game Adriano Rodrigues who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 91st minute, Jarbas da Silveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Patrick Neiva in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adriano Rodrigues in the 97th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind.
