Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Betão Vargas in the 10th minute of play. SE Palestra Itália's Tony Chaves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 12th minute of play. 13 minutes had been played when some careless play by SE Palestra Itália's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Felix Montes fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Tony Chaves quite easily take care of the ball. In the 15th match minute, SE Palestra Itália was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Betão Vargas to maneuver through the defense. Tony Chaves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 16th minute of the match. The supporters of Ecuador booed when SE Palestra Itália was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adalberto Custódio didn't get a good kick on the ball. 20 minutes into the match, SE Palestra Itália's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Tony Chaves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristian Sancho in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tony Chaves prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 32 minutes SE Palestra Itália's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. After a defensive mix-up in SE Palestra Itália's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tony Chaves came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Betão Vargas took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Julio Vera to make any attempt to save it. If Betão Vargas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Zorita scored 1-1 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tony Chaves, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Betão Vargas to strike the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Betão Vargas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. SE Palestra Itália made a substitution. Bruno Dias replaced Caetano Félix. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Clayton Sergi in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Tony Chaves in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 63 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Clayton Sergi came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felix Montes hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. SE Palestra Itália made a substitution. Cristóvão Madureira replaced Acar Buğrahan. In the 67th minute, Felix Montes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristóvão Madureira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Tony Chaves made a huge save. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Clayton Sergi in the 76th minute of the match. After 80 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tony Chaves was left in no man's land by his defense there! Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Betão Vargas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an all-out effort, Ecuador's Tony Chaves threw himself towards the right post 85 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luis Andino, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Bruno Dias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Clayton Sergi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Clayton Sergi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when SE Palestra Itália was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Dias didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Felix Montenegro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tony Chaves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The SE Palestra Itália fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
