Glasgow Rangers FC's Dave Clemente played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cassius Byrne in the 27th minute of play. In the 29th minute Monty Rogers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dave Clemente saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Nahuel Molina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

After 55 minutes Glasgow Rangers FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cassius Byrne who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Cassius Byrne got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dave Clemente quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When Jacob May, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 56 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Dave Clemente was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Dave Clemente made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 58th minute of play. 59 minutes into the match, Glasgow Rangers FC's Ettore Placidi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marco Day narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Marco Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armando Natalucci, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marco Day stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ettore Placidi's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. When the match clock showed 70 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Ettore Placidi sped through USA's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Marco Day. The corner led USA's Jenson Smith to fire away a dangerous shot which Dave Clemente despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. USA's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
