An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 12th minute of play forced C.A. MILO's goalkeeper Bonifacio Roca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to C.A. MILO getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Strahil Sapundzhiev hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, C.A. MILO's Andreas Nygaard got a free kick in the 16th minute. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Bonifacio Roca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Cesar Pereyra could shoot a difficult shot in the 20th minute, which Julio Vera however easily saved by the left post. In the 22nd minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bonifacio Roca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 24 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Arias. Daniel Zorita hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. When the match clock showed 28 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Cesar Pereyra sped through Ecuador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julio Vera. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bonifacio Roca having to interfere. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cesar Pereyra to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldo Martinez came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. MILO players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
