The supporters of Taltum FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Sebastián Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Obregón Pardemanos was the one to do the kick off. Di Le Jun could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Taltum FC's Espinosa Marco was substituted for Marcelo Cavenaghi. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Obregón Pardemanos in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Zhang Hao Qing tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Norbert Dabrowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zhang Hao Qing made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 95th minute of play. The Ecuador manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Taltum FC to win.
