Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Tomas Illescas made the kick off which started today's match. After 3 minutes of play, AVAÍ F.C.'s Walmyr Salles made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! Walmyr Salles might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Walmyr Salles ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walmyr Salles in the 10th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Jailson Teles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 21 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Rigoberto Mina. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Pombal in the 22nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, AVAÍ F.C.'s Manfredo Gerber got a free kick in the 29th minute. 34 minutes into the match, Walmyr Salles had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Walmyr Salles was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teodoro Magalhães in the 38th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Walmyr Salles to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rubens Cabral in the 51st minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Walmyr Salles sent off a good shot on target. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. AVAÍ F.C.'s Tarcisio Chaves was substituted for Luiz Pombal. In the 66th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Venegas to maneuver through the defense. Walmyr Salles blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jonathan Ferrant having to make a save. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Walmyr Salles, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Claus Van De Wiele fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Jailson Teles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Walmyr Salles tried to sneak it across the goal line. 83 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Walmyr Salles. AVAÍ F.C.'s Dario Alegría was substituted for Claus Van De Wiele. In the 86th minute of the match AVAÍ F.C. got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tarcisio Chaves ran over to the corner to take the kick. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by AVAÍ F.C.'s Walmyr Salles. But to his dismay, Walmyr Salles quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. When the match was over AVAÍ F.C. could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Venezuela throughout the match.
