Cougars FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Cougars FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramon Rufo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fernando Abarca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lorenzo Aimar in the 28th minute of the match. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Fernando Abarca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustín Saelices in the 51st minute of the match. After 52 minutes of play, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fernando Abarca was left in no man's land by his defense there! Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 57th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Fernando Abarca could save by the left post. Cougars FC's Fernando Abarca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 64th minute of play. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Cougars FC's Fernando Abarca got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
