In the 3rd minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvio Bazil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, Martin Palermo F.C.'s Dante Lacasa threw himself towards the right post 4 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Giovanni Arósio, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Guillermo Izquierdo sent off a good shot on target. 22 minutes into the match, Martin Palermo F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Silvio Bazil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 25 minutes into the game, Mexico's Joel Gaona nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Silvio Bazil made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Lautaro Mancebo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Silvio Bazil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Robin Wallgren kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. In the 43rd minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvio Bazil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 44 played minutes Martin Palermo F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Guillermo Izquierdo. The Martin Palermo F.C. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Guillermo Izquierdo was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice moves Lautaro Mancebo could shoot a difficult shot in the 53rd minute, which Silvio Bazil however easily saved by the left post. With a little luck, Martin Palermo F.C.'s Silvio Bazil got control of the ball when Lautaro Mancebo tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mateo Izquierdo during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giovanni Arósio in the 73rd minute of play. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guillermo Izquierdo in the 75th minute of the match. A collision led to Martin Palermo F.C. getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Serafin Manni hit a great ball. Martin Palermo F.C.'s Sebastián Izquierdo was substituted for Guillermo Izquierdo. Serafin Manni kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. The corner ended in Joel Gaona almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Martin Palermo F.C.'s Silvio Bazil did a great save. Lautaro Mancebo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 84thth minute tested the skills of Silvio Bazil when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 88 minutes into the match, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Silvio Bazil narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Martin Palermo F.C. getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Tiburcio Pepillo hit a great ball. Alberto Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Mexico players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Martin Palermo F.C. from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
