Thanks to some nice moves Ted Lasso could shoot a difficult shot in the 5th minute, which Julio Vera however easily saved by the left post. 10 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Emilian Martinez. Don Malbec's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Sancho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. If Ted Lasso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emilian Martinez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 17th minute of play. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Camilo Sexto made a kick off. Luis Andino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emilian Martinez having to interfere. 57 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ramon Nafarroa was slow to take the kick. During this time Don Malbec's players had a chance to rest. Ramon Nafarroa made a great header on Don Malbec's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Emilian Martinez made a huge save. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Camilo Sexto in the 63rd minute of play. Cristian Sancho had several of the Don Malbec's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 65 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-2 score and a disappointed Emilian Martinez as he didn't even see the shot coming. Don Malbec's Emilian Martinez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Don Malbec from getting a goal against them. Emilian Martinez was a little too slow when Daniel Zorita got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 74th minute. The score was now 0-3. When Don Malbec's Camilo Sexto in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. Don Malbec were furious when Celedonio Aurken was red carded, 84 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Emilian Martinez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristian Sancho's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. Don Malbec's Emilian Martinez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Don Malbec from getting a goal against them. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Don Malbec throughout the match.
