Academia B.F.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Wiliam Carioca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 8th minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vicente Catarinense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 13 minutes into the match, Academia B.F.'s goal looked a bit too open when Facundo Cadaval came free, but Vicente Catarinense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vicente Catarinense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vicente Catarinense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 24th minute of play forced Academia B.F.'s goalkeeper Vicente Catarinense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vicente Catarinense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Facundo Cadaval, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

A collision led to Academia B.F. getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Walmir Campidelis hit a great ball. Vicente Catarinense made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 64th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Mexico's zone, Primo Sans stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dante Lacasa came out of the goal and Primo Sans tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Academia B.F.'s João Francisco Fontes was substituted for Wiliam Carioca. After a rather tough play, Academia B.F.'s Josué Godoi got a free kick in the 71st minute. A hard shot by Joel Gaona from long distance, 73 minutes into the match, got Vicente Catarinense's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Michel Totti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michel Totti in the 75th minute of play. Michel Totti blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dante Lacasa having to make a save. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michel Totti in the 80th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alberto Tafalla got free with Vicente Catarinense in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Academia B.F.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 81st minute, when Alberto Tafalla scored to the left of an out of position Vicente Catarinense, making the score, 0-3. Vicente Catarinense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luca Zorita in the 86th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joel Gaona in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vicente Catarinense saved Academia B.F. from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Academia B.F.'s Michel Totti got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Mexico played a much better game than Academia B.F. and deserved their victory. The Academia B.F. players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
